About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and Certified Clinical Supervisor for Mental Health and Addictions and maintain a Christian private practice in two locations in NC.

Providing counseling since 1989, I am recognized in N.C. as an expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for individuals, couples, families and groups.  A graduate of East Carolina University's Graduate School of Social Work-Mental Health, I specialize in a broad spectrum of mental health as well as addictions issues.   Among my areas of expertise are: communications, couples counseling, pre-marital counseling, family relations, rebuilding after an affair, behavioral disorders, sensory disorder, depression, adjustment disorders, mood disorder, anxiety, panic, trauma, grief & loss, anger management, domestic violence, parenting, empowerment, self-actualization, meditation, stress management, & coping with terminal illness.

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, I have presented at universities, corporate conferences, mental health and addiction's professional conferences & to general audiences speaking on the topics of stress management, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, addiction disorders treatment & prevention, empowerment, & marital / couple / & family relations.
